Spacers

Spacers

The spacers we have placed between your teeth are designed to create space between the adjacent teeth. Here are several important points to follow while wearing spacers:

¨ Avoid sticky, gummy foods such as bubble gum, gummy bears, and caramels that will stick to spacers and dislodge them.
¨ Brush your teeth normally in the area with spacers, but avoid flossing the places that contain spacers.
¨ Don't pick at the spacers with your fingers.
¨ As your teeth move apart, the spacers may fall out. Do not try to replace them. But please call so that we can schedule replacement two days before your banding appointment.
¨ Spacers often make teeth sore for two or three days. If necessary aspirin, Tylenol, or ibuprofen may be taken as needed.

Your spacers are the first step toward braces and a new smile. Dr. Stich and his staff are excited about working with you.
Thank you.
