• INDIRECT BONDING

The method used for placement of brackets in our practice, indirect bonding (IDB), ensures ultimate accuracy, improved oral hygiene, and patient comfort. Placement of braces on a model of the teeth, and subsequent transfer of the brackets using a custom made tray provides ultimate accuracy for the placement of braces. Modern braces require accuracy and accuracy results in shorter treatment time, something appreciated by all!

• HERBST APPLAINCE FOR OVERBITE (CLASS II) CORRECTION
  

Dr. Stich and his staff believe in a win-win treatment approach. The Herbst appliance is worn by many of our patients whose orthodontic problem involves overbite. Due to the fixed nature of the Herbst appliance, patient compliance is assured leading to excellent, predictable results in a very reasonable period of time. Removable appliances such as headgear, can be a disastrous prescription leading to poor patient compliance, battles at home and unsatisfactory result. Excellent results and elimination of parent-child battles provides the win-win treatment we provide.

Even orthodontics has benefited from the NASA program. Our use of nickel titanium advanced arch wires has led to less discomfort, shorter treatment time and less time away from school/work for orthodontic appointments.

• EMPHASIS ON ORAL HOME CARE

Patients, parents, Dr. Stich and staff all want to see a beautiful smile of healthy teeth when braces are removed. Our emphasis on dental home care is designed to eliminate the potential for ugly decalcification marks on the teeth after braces are removed. Until the day arrives when teeth can be straightened with a few clicks of your computer mouse, we will continue to refine our "treatment delivery" systems to keep busy children and parents doing what they like the most. Here is just a glimpse into our attempts to make orthodontic treatment "hassle free".

• ONE-STEP EXAMINATION AND DIAGNOSTIC RECORDS

When treatment is recommended for new patients, we have allowed time in our schedule to proceed that same day with the diagnostic records and impressions for appliances that are often necessary to begin treatment. This minimizes time out of school and work for patients and parents.

• OUR PLEDGE TO RUN ON TIME

We pledge to have patients seated and treatment started within 10 minutes or less of their appointment time. We recognize the importance of your time and the many activities that families schedule in one day.

• PATIENTS AND PARENTS NEED TO BE INFORMED

Our staff will discuss with the patient and parent the treatment progress, procedures performed that appointment, and any aspects that may need improvement such as rubber band wear or tooth brushing. Parents are an important part of the treatment team necessary to provide that winning smile.

Successful orthodontic treatment can only be accomplished through team effort. Dr. Stich and staff will coach, parents will cheer, and the most important part of the team the PATIENT will play. 1. Excellent Oral Hygiene - thorough brushing twice or more daily
2. Maintenance of Appliances - broken appliances delay treatment
